CFG's partnerships with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB®), underscores our commitment to the environment, and allow us advance water-efficiency initiatives with consumers and the trade.

WaterSense®

WaterSense, a partnership program sponsored by the EPA, helps protect the United States' future water supply by promoting water efficiency. A special label helps consumers identify water-efficient products and programs that meet water efficiency and performance criteria.

What does CFG do to maintain our partnership with WaterSense?

  • Lobby the government about the importance of adopting a program that will encourage a significant reduction in water use among U.S. consumers.
  • Reuse 70 percent of the water used for product testing, along with adapting other corporate sustainable initiatives.
  • Use WaterSense partner materials to promote water efficiency in public relation efforts and advertising.
  • Create a strong consumer presence and promotion of WaterSense on packaging, in catalogs, and online.
  • Highlight WaterSense labeled products at trade shows.

USGBC/LEED®

The USGBC developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System as a nationally accepted benchmark for measuring and documenting green building practices. CFG's products can be used to help achieve LEED certification. In the water-efficiency category of new construction, one LEED point is credited for a 20% reduction in interior aggregate water consumption versus standard fixture requirements. CFG is proud to partner with the NAHB to support their National Green Building Program™, which ensures the authenticity of state and local green building programs with the use of a national scoring tool.

National Association Home Builders Water Conservation Partnerships

NSF International

NSF International, an independent, not-for-profit organization, helps protect consumers by certifying products and writing standards for food, water and consumer goods. NSF is a leader in standards development, product testing and certification and has been protecting health, safety and the environment for over 60 years.

CFG was one of the first faucet companies to achieve Annex G certification by NSF International for compliance with new lead regulations that went into effect in 2010.
